Wanda Sykes was on the Tonight Show last night, and Ellen Degeneres today, with the same content in her dialog in which she talks about how the judges aren't mean - some dreams need to be broken. Contestants know what to expect, and as far as the mentally challenged, the show doesn't discriminate, but maybe they need to have a 'Special American Idol', like the Special Olympics:
